Zambia deaf society is duly registered disabled people's organization with the Zambia Agency For Persons With Disabilities ZAPD in accordance with the Disability Act No.06 of 2012 Article 54(2). Zambia Deaf Society was founded in July 2015, by consortium of the deaf, hard of hearing, Disability activists, scholars and stakeholders who were concerned about the extent of exclusion, stigma and discrimination towards the disability of deafness in order to contribute to the creation of an inclusive just society, to bring about sustainable development, empowerment and equal opportunities for all.
